Established in 2004, RCO Live is the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra’s own in-house label under which it produces CD, SACD and DVD releases of live concerts given at the Concertgebouw under the direction of Mariss Jansons and the leading guest conductors with whom it regularly works. You can listen to and order CDs by visiting the RCO Live Shop online.

Because of the success of RCO Live, more and more of the orchestra’s media activities are being released under the in-house label. Visitors to this site can now listen to concerts given by the orchestra on its own Web radio station, RCO Live Radio, and can watch concert recordings and video commentary on RCO Live TV.

Over the years, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra has built up a vast catalogue of records and CDs for the major record labels. Unfortunately, many of these recordings are no longer available, but a little sleuthing will still turn up many historical recordings on websites of record companies, as well as on iTunes or other digital services.

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra works closely with the Avro broadcasting network. Every season, Avro records nearly all the concert programmes performed by the orchestra for rebroadcast on Radio 4 on Sunday afternoons.

The Avro network also produces at least two TV recordings of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra each year, thus allowing the orchestra to reach an audience far exceeding the capacity of the Concertgebouw.

For an overview of the Avro’s RCO broadcasts, please visit the Avro website.
