Auditions will be held on 14 (first round), 15 (second round) and 16 (final round) October 2019 in Amsterdam.

  • C.P.E. Bach - Sonata in G for harp, 2nd movement, Allegro (Breitkopf edition)
  • C. Debussy - Danse Profane for harp and strings  (met piano)
  • Tchaikovsky – Swan Lake, cadenza
  • Berlioz - Symphonie fantastique ‘Un bal’ (harp 1)
  • Stravinsky – Symphony in three movements, third movement
  • Britten - A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, cadenza and fuge
  • R. Strauss - Don Juan, until 6 bars before G
  • Ravel - Alborada del Gracioso (harp 1)
  • Smetana - Vysehrad, cadenza
  • Ravel - Tzigane, cadenza
  • R. Strauss - Ein Heldenleben, from figure 79-88 (harp 2)
  • Mahler - Adagietto from  Symphony No. 5

The orchestra's activities include concerts in the Netherlands and abroad as well as radio, CD and television recordings and a broad range of streaming activities.

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra works to provide its members with suitable instruments, which are loaned to the musicians during their employment with the orchestra.

The audition can be played on a private instrument or on the orchestra’s harp: Camac, Style: ‘Oriane’. Similar harps will be provided for warming up.
