Chief conductor Daniele Gatti leads tour of East-Asia with three soloists

Concerts Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in South Korea and Japan

In November 2017 the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will give concerts in Seoul (Republic of Korea) and five cities in Japan. Chief conductor Daniele Gatti will conduct two different concert programmes.

Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 will be performed at Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul (15 Nov.), Kyoto Concert Hall (18 Nov.), Muza Kawasaki (19 Nov.) and Suntory Hall in Tokyo (21 Nov.). Tatjana Vassiljeva, principal cellist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, is the soloist in Haydn’s Cello Concerto. In Mahler’s Fourth Symphony, soprano Julia Kleiter sings Wir geniessen die himmlische Freude.

Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, featuring Frank Peter Zimmermann, and Brahms’s Symphony No. 1 are on the programme in Seoul (16 Nov.) and Tokyo (20 Nov.), at the Nagasaki Brick Hall (23 Nov.) and at the Festival Hall in Osaka (24 Nov.).
