Christian
Hacker

Cello

The German cellist Christian Hacker studied with Christoph Richter at the Essen conservatory and with David Soyer, the legendary cellist of the Guarneri Quartet, at the Juilliard School of Music in New York. He gained orchestral experience playing in the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the Duisburger Philharmoniker.

Hacker joined the cello section of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in August 2006 and regularly collaborates with colleagues in chamber music performances.

RCO donors’ foundation Stichting Donateurs acquired a Gaetano Sgarabotto cello (Milan, 1910) for a Christian Hacker at an auction in 2015.
