Christina
Landshamer

soprano

Born in Munich, the soprano Christina Landshamer studied in her native city and in Stuttgart with Angelica Vogel, Konrad Richter and Dunja Vejzović. She has won prizes at the International J.S. Bach Competition, the Supportive Prize Competition of the Munich Concert Society and the Bavarian Radio’s Kissinger Song Competition.

She has regularly performed at the Stuttgart State Opera, the Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg and the Theater an der Wien. In 2011, she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival, and a year later at the festival of Baden-Baden and with De Nederlandse Opera, in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte conducted by Marc Albrecht.

In addition to roles in operas by Mozart, Puccini and Bizet, Landshamer enjoys performing contemporary operatic roles, having appeared in the world premiere of Hans Zender’s opera Chief Joseph with the Berlin State Opera and the leading role (Andy Warhol) in Philippe Schoeller’s Trans-Warhol in Geneva.

The main focus of Landsham’s career, however, is the oratorio and concert repertoire, including Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem, Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 and Penderecki’s Lacrimosa. She has appeared with orchestras including the Freiburger Barockorchester, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zurich, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.

Landshamer made her first appearance with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in September 2015 in a performance of the Fauré Requiem conducted by Stéphane Denève. She made a solo appearance in Bach’s St Matthew Passion under the direction of Ton Koopman in March 2018.
