Claire Barnett-Jones studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, the Royal Academy Opera and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She was a Kohn Foundation Bach Cantata Soloist and a member of the RAM Song Circle. She was presented with the Wessex Glyndebourne Association Award in 2017 for a young singer of much promise.

She has had much success in competitions, most recently being selected to compete in the Final Rounds of Placido Domingo’s Operalia Competition and winning the Wagner Prize of the Netherlands and the Junior Jury Prize at the International Vocal Competition in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

Hailed as ‘clearly a young singer to watch’ (Opera Today), Claire Barnett-Jones has performed as soloist on the Last Night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, for Opéra National de Bordeaux, with the Orchestra of Valencia and at the Wigmore Hall. 

For the Glyndebourne Festival Opera she recently performed Dryad in Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos, Annina in Der Rosenkavalier, and Suzuki in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.

She has covered Sotopenre in Philip Glass’s Akhnaten for English National Opera and Dido in Dido and Aeneas for a collaboration between ENO and the Unicorn Theatre, London.

Ms. Barnett-Jones makes her debut with the Concertgebouworkest.
