Concertgebouworkest visits Taiwan and Japan
Between 14 and 23 November, the Concertgebouworkest will visit Taiwan and Japan during an extensive tour. Two concert programmes will be performed in several cities under the baton of Paavo Järvi. The first features Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10. The second programme starts with Wagner’s Tannhäuser Overture, followed by Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Brahms’s Symphony No. 4.
In Taiwan the soloist in Beethoven’s Concerto is Lars Vogt; Lang Lang will join the orchestra in Japan.
The tour commences with two concerts, on 14 and 15 November, at the National Theater and Concert Hall in the Taiwanese capital, Taipeh. On 16 November the orchestra will visit Taichung for the very first time, performing Wagner, Beethoven and Brahms at the National Taichung Theatre, which opened in 2016.
On 18 and 19 November the orchestra will give two concerts at Tokyo’s Suntory Hall. The tour will continue with concerts in Nagoya, Kawasaki and – for the first time – at the Sakai Performing Arts Center.
