The 2004 SACD release of this recording of Dvořák's beloved Ninth Symphony originally marked both the inauguration of Mariss Jansons as chief conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the debut of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra’s independent label RCO Live. The recording has received rave reviews upon release and has since become one of the classic recordings of Dvořák’s New World symphony. It is now issued on vinyl for the first time.
