Soprano

Swedish soprano Miah Persson studied at the Kulturama, Operastudio 67 and University College of Opera, all in Stockholm. She made her operatic debut as Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro in 1998 and went on to join the Royal Swedish Opera. Persson has also performed at the Vienna State Opera, Metropolitan Opera in New York, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and many others. In recent seasons, she appeared, among others, as Elettra in Mozart’s Idomeneo, re di Creta at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and in Michel van der Aa’s Blank Out, a chamber opera for solo soprano, for the Netherlands Opera with performances in Amsterdam, Rome, Aix-en-Provence and New York.

As a recitalist and a concert artist, Persson has appeared in major venues all over the world. She recently sang Berlioz’s Les nuits d’été on tour with the Budapest Festival Orchestra, Mahler’s Second Symphony with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, and Vier letzte Lieder by Richard Strauss with the Houston Symphony.

Miah Persson made her first guest appearance with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2004, and returned with the orchestra several times, most recently in 2017. In 2010 she performed Mahler’s Fourth Symphony under Iván Fischer, which was also recorded for Concertgebouworkest Live.
