The staff members of the Concertgebouw Orchestra have left their familiar office at the Jacob Obrechtstraat and settled down at their new workplace. On arrival on the first working day at RCO House, everyone was welcomed by general manager Jan Raes and artistic director Joel Ethan Fried. The first task for all employees? Unpacking the moving boxes. Then they start working: business as usual.
RCO House is also home for the musicians. They have found their way to the music studios, which are named after important conductors from the orchestra's history.
For the first time, a chamber music ensemble rehearsed in the Amsterdamzaal. Curious staff members listen carefully to the acoustics of the hall. Does the hall sound well? Soon they look at each other approvingly.
