Swedish clarinet phenomenon Martin Fröst is widely known as a musician who’s always on the lookout for new ways to challenge the conventions of the classical-music world. In January he’ll be the soloist in the world premiere of Anna Clyne’s clarinet concerto Weathered, that she wrote especially for him. In April he will return - with Janine Jansen - for the world premiere of Sally Beamis' double concerto Distans and for a chamber music concert in the Close-up series.
