Tamara
Wilson

soprano

On 17 September, Tamara Wilson made her first appearance at the Royal Concertgebouw on the NTR Saturday Matinee series. Of her role in the concert version of Verdi’s I due Foscari, Opera Today wrote, ‘Wilson managed to add poignant shading to the grand gestures.’

Recently having won the Richard Tucker Award, Wilson is quickly building a reputation for herself, appearing in operas by Verdi, Mozart and Richard Strauss. In addition to stage performances all over the world, she is equally committed to the concert repertoire, having made multiple appearances as a soloist in performances of Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, Britten’s War Requiem, Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.

The American soprano graduated from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and continued her training in the Houston Grand Opera Studio.

In December 2016, Wilson will make her first appearance with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in a performance of Act 3 of Wagner’s Die Walküre under the direction of Valery Gergiev.
