Auditions will be held on 29 (first round), 30 (second round) and 31 January (final round) 2018 in Amsterdam.

Repertoire will include:

  • Stamitz or Hoffmeister, Concerto in D major, and
  • Bartók, Concerto op. posth.

This audition is open to:

  • Dutch musicians
  • musicians from outside of Holland, provided that they can legally work in the Netherlands without work permits (musicians who are citizens of Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, United Kingdom, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland).

Recorded solos and excerpts may be requested later at the discretion of the audition committee. Please do not send a recording with your application at this time.

The orchestra's activities include concerts in the Netherlands and abroad as well as radio, CD and television recordings and a broad range of streaming media activities.

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra works to provide its members with suitable instruments, which are loaned to the musicians during their employment with the orchestra.

We reserve the right to make a preliminary selection based on letters of application and recordings.
