Renowned German violist Tabea Zimmermann is this season’s artist in residence of the Concertgebouworkest.
On Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 December, Tabea Zimmermann will be joined by violinist Isabelle Faust for performances of Mozart’s Sinfonia concertante under the baton of Iván Fischer. After performances at The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, a tour will follow to BOZAR, Brussels (14 December), the Luxembourg Philharmonie (15 December) and La Philharmonie in Paris (16 December).
As artist in residence of the Concertgebouworkest, Tabea Zimmermann not only performs concert music. On Tuesday 10 December she will give a chamber music concert in the Recital Hall with members of the orchestra; on Friday 13 December the violist will give a (private) masterclass for the young students of the Academy of the Concertgebouworkest.
In August and September 2019, Zimmermann and the orchestra already performed Bartók’s Viola Concerto in Amsterdam, Lucerne and Grafenegg.
In April 2020 she will return to the Concertgebouworkest. Tabea Zimmermann will then be the soloist in Georges Lentz’s viola concerto Monh and collaborate with orchestra members in a Concertgebouworkest Club Night.
