Korean soprano Yeree Suh studied at Seoul National University, then in the class of Harald Stamm at Berlin University of the Arts, with Regina Werner-Dietrich in Leipzig and with Gerd Türk at the Schola Cantorum in Basel. She made her professional début in 2003 as La Ninfa in Monteverdi’s L'Orfeo conducted by René Jacobs. Since then she has been collaborating with the most prominent conductors in the field of early music, including Philippe Herreweghe, Ton Koopman, Sigiswald Kuijken and Masaki Suzuki. With Concerto Köln she has gone on tour in the role of Mademoiselle Silberklang in Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor.
Yeree Suh has achieved international prominence in renditions of contemporary repertoire. Her performances of Boulez’s Pli selon pli thrilled audiences, critics and colleagues at the Berlin Music Festival; renditions of Unsuk Chin’s Akrostichon-Wortspiel have also received highest accolades. She performed works by György Ligeti, George Benjamin and the European première of Matthias Pintscher’s With lilies white.
Recently, Yeree Suh has sung vocal recitals in South Korea with Jos van Immerseel and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Anima Eterna.
Yeree Suh makes her debut with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
