Soprano Nienke Nasserian and musicians from the Concertgebouw Orchestra bring this season's Bijlmer Klassiek to a close with a journey through the full spectrum of human emotion.
About this concert
We all experience emotions in our own way. During the final concert of this season, soprano and musical theatre maker Nienke Nasserian and violinist and singer Jelena Ristić guide us through experiences and emotions that either bring us together or drive us apart.
The music of A Human Journey comes from different parts of the world: works by Richard Strauss, Samuel Barber, Harry T. Burleigh and Astor Piazzolla, as well as jazz, arias by Puccini and a moving Balkan traditional piece will be performed this Sunday in Amsterdam Zuidoost. All arrangements are newly crafted by Pieter Smithuijsen.
Bijlmer Klassiek
The Bijlmer Klassiek series is where a diversity of musical styles meet and interact. Musicians from all sorts of genres and all sorts of backgrounds work closely with members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. The result is a series of extraordinary concerts that open up new horizons every season.
The coming season promises to be another boundless adventure. Save the dates: Sunday 27 September (11 a.m.), Sunday 6 December (11 a.m.), Saturday 6 March (8 p.m.) and Sunday 30 May (11 a.m.).
