The Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Bijlmer Parktheatre are collaborating on a series of groundbreaking concerts seamlessly blending different musical styles and the performing arts.
About this concert
Théotime Voisin plays double bass in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. In addition, he and pianist Maurice van Schoonhoven form a duo dedicated to exploring exciting musical paths. In the Bijlmer Klassiek series, they collaborate with singer and multi-instrumentalist Bahghi. The seven parts of Spicy Odyssey, written especially for Théotime and Maurice by composer and jazz pianist Jean-Marc Fouché, alternate with seven brand new songs by Bahghi, arranged for ensemble by Bram Faber, reflecting on the seven chakras. The result is a fascinating musical journey.
About performing Spicy Odyssey, Théotime Voisin says, ‘Notes no longer exist at all, they become words, atmospheres and sounds… You forget that you are playing an instrument and immediately become part of the story.’
