About this concert
Composer Joe Hisaishi will conduct the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in a selection of his greatest musical themes. His widely loved music for legendary Studio Ghibli films such as Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away, Ponyo and Howl’s Moving Castle will be accompanied with film images from Studio Ghibli projected on massive screens. In addition, Hisaishi will conduct some of his best music for feature films, including the award-winning Hana-Bi (Fireworks) and Kids Return by leading director Takeshi Kitano, and much more.
