Concertgebouworkest to stream more concert registrations

The Concertgebouworkest will be streaming concert registrations through YouTube, Facebook and its website with increased regularity starting on Monday 6 April. Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 4 p.m. CEST a different concert will be streamed, after which it will remain available online.

In the first week after the first measures to curb the corona outbreak were taken, mid-March, the orchestra began to stream concerts online. The frequency of putting online new concerts is now increased.

Each concert will be briefly introduced by a member of the Concertgebouworkest. The streaming schedule will be refreshed each week. This week, the schedule is as follows:

Monday 6 April

Rossini’s Ouverture La gazza ladra and Prokofjev’s Symphony No. 5, Mariss Jansons conducting; introduction by Kersten McCall (flute)

Wednesday 8 April

Debussy’s Épigraphes antiques (orchestration: Rudolf Escher) and Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances under the baton of Andris Nelsons; introduction by Alexei Ogrintchouk (oboe)

Friday 10 April

Bruckner’s Symphony No. 5 under Nikolaus Harnoncourt; introduction by Michael Gieler (viola)
