Elena Dubinets
Elena Dubinets joined the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra’s management team as Artistic Director in May 2025. Previously she was Artistic Director of the London Philharmonic Orchestra since 2021 and held similar positions at the Atlanta and Seattle symphony orchestras. As Vice President for Artistic Planning of the Seattle Symphony, Ms Dubinets oversaw the orchestra’s recording label, which was launched in 2013 and which yielded Grammy Awards in five consecutive years. In 2018, Gramophone magazine named the Seattle Symphony ‘Symphony of the Year’ based on a readers’ poll. In the same year, Musical America named Ms Dubinets ‘Professional of the Year’.
Ms Dubinets received MA and PhD degrees from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, specialising in and publishing articles on experimental music from the USA. She has taught at universities in Russia, Costa Rica, and the US, and has published five books, including Russian Composers Abroad: How They Left, Stayed, Returned (Indiana University Press, 2021). Moreover, she has written many articles, liner notes and programme notes in multiple languages.
