Julie Moulin

Born in 1986 in Auvergne (in the center of France), Julie Moulin studied flute in her native region with Cyril Coutier, Corinne Sagnol and Hervé Hotier. After one year of lessons in Paris with Vincent Lucas, from 2006 to 2010 she studied with Philippe Bernold, Julien Beaudiment and Gilles Cottin at the Lyon Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique.

Just after graduating with flying colours, she was selected for the Academy of the Concertgebouworkest. Only a couple of months later she won the position of second flute playing alto flute.

A passionate chamber musician, Julie is a member of Duo Yati with Bruno Bonansea, principal clarinettist of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and of Quintette K, which was awarded prizes in several international competitions.. She is also the co-founder and artistic director of the chamber music festival Les Echappées Musicales du Médoc in the south-west of France.

Julie is also gladly involved in teaching. Since 2013 she teaches at the CODARTS Rotterdam Conservatoire alongside Juliette Hurel and Wim Steinmann, and regularly gives masterclasses all over the world.

Thanks to generous donors, Julie received a beautiful new Kingma & Brannen alto flute from the collection of the Foundation Concertgebouworkest.
