As part of the Rembrandt year, principal horn player Laurens Woudenberg is performing as a soloist for the Night Watch in the Gallery of Honor of the Rijksmuseum on 24 May 2019, accompanied by his Concertgebouworkest colleagues. He is playing on a historical instrument from the Rijksmuseum collection.

Natural horn

Principal horn player Laurens Woudenberg is performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Concerto for horn and orchestra No. 4 on a natural horn, built by  Jean-Louis Antoine Halary (Paris, ca 1850). The horn was part of Willem Mengelberg's instrument collection. In 2017, Jaap Prinsen, former horn player of the Concertgebouworkest, donated the instrument to the Rijksmuseum.
