Fons Verspaandonk
Fons Verspaandonk studied with Herman Jeurissen at the Brabant Conservatory, where he graduated with honours. He took masterclasses with Radovan Vlatkovic, Frøydis Ree Wekre en Michael Höltzel.
Fons Verspaandonk was appointed third horn with the Concertgebouworkest in January 2004. Prior tot his, he was a member of the Brabant Orchestra (1995-1998) and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra (1998-2003).
He is a member of the Farkas Quintet, with which he won the Jury Prize and the Audience Prize at the 2004 Almere National Chamber Music Competition. Verspaandonk has also performed chamber music with ensembles such as Combattimento Consort Amsterdam and the Ebony Band, and is a member of Brass of the Concertgebouworkest.
From 2007 to 2011, Verspaandonk taught horn at the Fontys Conservatoire in Tilburg.
Fons Verspaandonk plays an Alexander 103 double horn and a B flat/high F horn 107, also from Musik Alexander, on loan from the Foundation Concertgebouworkest. One of these horns was purchased with support from the Freundeskreis Schweiz.
