Sanne Hunfeld
Sanne Hunfeld studied violin with Lex Korff de Gidts at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree with honours in 2004. She continued her studies with David Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, where she completed a Master's degree in performance, again with honours, in 2005. She concluded her studies with Peter Brunt at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Sanne Hunfeld has also participated in masterclasses with Herman Krebbers and Maxim Vengerov and was a member of the Academy of the Concertgebouworkest during the 2006-2007 season.
In March 2011, she joined the second violin section of the Concertgebouw Orchestra.
An active chamber musician, Sanne Hunfeld was a member of the piano trio Suleika, has performed as a duo with pianist Maarten den Hengst and regularly played in ensembles such as the Nieuw Ensemble and Combattimento Consort.
In October 2018, Hunfeld was awarded the de annual Prix de Salon of the business club of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, enabling her to realise her idea to have children’s songs from around the world arranged for classical instruments an performed by orchestra members. On 16 February 2020 the children’s concert ‘Moonframe’ will be the first instalment of this project.
Sanne Hunfeld plays a violin, presumably built by the Voller brothers (ca. 1900), which is provided to her on loan by a private patron through the Foundation Concertgebouworkest.
