Tomoko Kurita

Tomoko Kurita had her first violin lessons at the age of three, later studying at the Tokyo University of Arts and Music. In 1990, she moved to the Netherlands to study with Herman Krebbers at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, where she obtained a performance degree in 1994. Since then, she gives regular recitals in the Netherlands and Japan.

Kurita joined the first violin section of the Concertgebouw Orchestra in September 1998. She played with the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra and is an active member of the Uriël Ensemble, founded by Concertgebouw Orchestra members in 2004. She also regularly gives recitals and chamber music concerts in Japan.
