Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla to conduct the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra

Three concerts featuring Gabriela Montero in Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto and works by Šerkšnytė and Weinberg

Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla will make her long-awaited first performance with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, conducting works of Šerkšnytė, Tchaikovsky and Weinberg on 19, 20 and 21 April. The Netherlands premiere of Raminta Šerkšnytė De profundis is followed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto, in which Gabriela Montero will make her debut as soloist with the Concertgebouw Orchestra. After the interval, Gražinytė-Tyla will conduct Mieczysław Weinberg’s Third Symphony. 
 
Gražinytė-Tyla was previously invited to lead the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in the spring of 2021, but her debut was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.   
 
Television and radio broadcasts via Mezzo and NPO Klassiek 
The concert on Friday, 21 April, will be broadcast by Mezzo on Saturday, 29 April at 8.30 p.m. CEST as part of the classical music tv broadcaster’s 25th anniversary. Mezzo is available to all subscribers at Ziggo, Calway, T-Mobile, Delta and CanalDigital. 
The concert will also be broadcast by AVROTROS through Dutch national radio channel NPO Klassiek on Sunday, 30 April at 2 p.m. CEST.
