Maximilian Leicher is a German conductor and composer based in Oslo. He received training in violin, piano, and voice, and appeared as principal soloist with the Tölzer Knabenchor in over sixty opera performances on major international stages, including his Dutch National Opera debut as Yniold in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande with the Concertgebouw Orchestra under Stéphane Denève in June 2019.
Leicher began his conducting studies in 2020 with Miguel Harth-Bedoya. Since 2022, he has worked intensively with Jorma Panula, conducting professional orchestras including the MÁV Symphony Orchestra, the South Denmark Philharmonic, and the Odense Symphony Orchestra. He currently studies conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music, where he has worked with Ole Kristian Ruud. In addition, he has taken masterclasses with Nicolás Pasquet and Johannes Schlaefli.
As a composer, his commission uten-klage-sang for choir and orchestra was premiered in 2025 by the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra and the Young Nordic Opera Choir.
