Born in Barcelona, Andrea García recently finished her master’s degree at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz with Meesun Hong Coleman. Previously, she studied at Barcelona’s Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña with Helena Satué, Lina Tur and Kai Gleusteen, receiving chamber music lessons from Cuarteto Casals and Kennedy Moretti.
She participated in festivals throughout Europe, and in 2024 received lessons from Sergey Malov and David Waterman at the International Music Seminar in Prussia Cove (England).
Andrea has been concertmaster of the Youth Orchestra of Catalonia (JONC, 2016-2022) and the Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE, 2020-2024). As a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra, she played in renowned halls and festivals including New York’s Carnegie Hall, Konzerthaus Berlin, and the Lucerne and Edinburgh Festivals. She further gained orchestral experience in the Mahler Chamber Orchestra Academy and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra (2022).
Andrea is a member of the chamber music project Musethica, and has collaborated with ensembles such as Camerata Bern, Pforte Kammerorchester, Camerata Penedès and Orquesta Da Camera.
The violinist won the BBVA Individual Talent Award 2016, as well as awards in competitions such as Danubia Talents, King’s Peak, the Barcelona Strings Competition, and the Arjau Music Competition.
