Marija Radovanović was born in Belgrade and began violin lessons with Dušica Mladenović. In 2016, she joined the class of Emilio Percan at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. She pursued her bachelor's degree at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, studying with Aleksey Semenenko.
She was a member of the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen and joined the Essener Philharmoniker’s first violin section as an academy participant.
Marija has performed as a soloist with the Graz University Orchestra, Camerata Musica Szombathely, Camerata Balcanica, and the Belgrade Youth Philharmonic. A recipient of the Dositeja Prize for outstanding international competition results, she was a prizewinner at competitions such as the Ohrid Pearls EMCY Competition in North Macedonia, the Kocian Violin Competition, and ‘The Earth is Our Common Home’ in Russia.
As concertmaster and deputy concertmaster of the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra, she took part in the 2019 and 2021 editions. In 2022, Marija was invited several times to lead Antwerp’s CASCO Phil, and in 2022-23 she joined the Free Interdisciplinary Performance Lab, mentored by Marina Abramović and Billy Zhao. Marija presented her performance If you search for perfection, you'll never be content at Museum Folkwang, in Essen, Germany as part of the 54 Hours Performances exhibition in 2023.
