The Spanish percussionist Matías Munín Giadáns began his musical training with the Banda Cultural de Teo. He studied with Juan Collazo and Antonio Risco in Santiago de Compostela, and recently obtained his bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, where his mentors were Theun van Nieuwburg, Niels Meliefste, Hans Zonderop, and Pepe García.
Rooted in the traditional music of Galicia, Matías developed an early interest in orchestral playing, alongside a strong affinity for contemporary and solo repertoire. He has participated in masterclasses with percussionists such as Bence Major, Noè Rodrigo, Marc Braafhart, Nick Woud, Marinus Komst, and Alexej Gerassimez.
Matías has performed with the Youth Galician Symphony Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands. He is a member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, and has previously performed with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia and The Hague Philharmonic.
In the 2025-26 season, he was a member of the jongNBE and participated in the academy of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra.
