Born in the French Alps, Robin Paillet began learning the trumpet at the age of six. In 2020, he was accepted into the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he joined the class of Marc Geujon and Alexis Demailly. In 2023, Robin continued his studies with Reinhold Friedrich at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe.
Robin has had the opportunity to perform with major orchestras such as the Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Paris, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National de France, and Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, performing under the direction of such conductors as Klaus Mäkelä, Daniele Gatti, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Simone Young, Philippe Jordan, and Christian Mâcelaru.
In 2024, Robin was awarded first prize at two competitions, the Ellsworth Smith International Trumpet Competition in the United States and the August Everding Music Competition organized by the Münchener Konzertverein in Germany. He received second prize at the Roger Voisin Competition in Miami, and a special prize for his interpretation of a contemporary piece at the Kesselblech Brass Festival in Stuttgart.
In 2025, at the 74th ARD International Music Competition, Robin Paillet won the first prize, the audience prize, and the special prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned composition in the trumpet category.
