Get acquainted with the essential masterpieces, inventively introduced by Thomas Vanderveken or Vincent Verelst. Essentials is now extended to include six concerts. Make your choice!

Which essential masterpieces belong on everyone’s bucket list? And where does one begin? The answers are in our Essentials series: a selection of six compact concerts on Friday or Saturday nights, with no intermission. Select a minimum of three concerts – the more concerts you choose, the greater the discount. Essentials start at 9.00 p.m., so there’s time to have something to eat before the concert.

The well-known presenters Thomas Vanderveken and Vincent Verelst give unique introductions to each programme. Following the talks, you’ll enjoy such masterpieces as Beethoven’s revolutionary ‘Eroica’, conducted by Klaus Mäkelä, or the energetic Seventh Symphony led by Joana Mallwitz. Stravinsky's Rite of Spring still sounds as brilliant and exciting as when it was written over a century ago. In the mood for something more Romantic? Try Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony, Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, or Elgar's compelling Cello Concerto!
