Sometimes, you just want a taste of everything. Discover a wide variety of sounds, styles, and perspectives in our Series D.

The D series features a host of highlights: grand symphonies by Beethoven (the Fifth and the Seventh), Dvořák (the Seventh) and Shostakovich (the Thirteenth), Bach’s St Matthew Passion, piano concertos by Mozart, Liszt and Williams, Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with Janine Jansen, an exciting baroque programme with conductor Jan Willem de Vriend and violinist Alena Baeva – the D series has it all.

In this series, you will also discover wonderful music by Emilie Mayer, Albert Roussel, Mieczysław Weinberg and Toru Takemitsu. As an extra concert this season, there will be a festive performance by an orchestra of (former) members of our academy, conducted by Klaus Mäkelä!*

More options

In the 2026-27 season, the D series comprises nine concerts, but can also be booked as a half-series of five (D1) or four concerts (D2). If you are entitled to Friends’ or donors’ discount for this series, you can select the reduced price once you have logged in.

* The extra concert featuring former Academy members and Klaus Mäkelä is currently not visible in the overview. As a result, the overview for Series D shows eight concerts instead of nine, and Series D1 shows four concerts instead of five. These will appear here shortly.
