The Pan Fonds aims to inspire young people up to the age of 25 with physical disabilities to listen to classical music and motivate them to play an instrument themselves, adapted if necessary. The Pan Fonds is committed to bringing this theme to the attention of a wider audience.

Pan is a mythological figure who plays the flute and has a physical disability: he has two goat legs.
The Pan Fonds is a named fund established by private donors Anneke and Charles Zijderveldt and administered by the Concertgebouw Orchestra Foundation.
I will never forget the happy look on that boy's face when he entered the concert hall where the orchestra was tuning up. His disability means he is very much confined to his home. We want to break through that wall, as it were.
