About this concert

The Ammodo Masterclass gives several talented young conductors the chance to actually conduct the Concertgebouworkest while at the same time receiving instruction from a prominent conductor over a period of several days. Thanks to streaming technology, everyone can enjoy the masterclass up close. Over the last ten years, the Ammodo Masterclass has acquired legendary status throughout the world. The 2020 masterclasses with Iván Fischer are still available at concertgebouworkest.nl/en/masterclasses.


In June 2022, the energetic maestro Fabio Luisi will be presiding, sharing some of his knowledge and experience with the next generation. Under his supervision, all the participants will be conducting the orchestra in a varied selection of works from the symphonic repertoire. Maestro Luisi will be giving tips and advice on musical ideas, baton technique, rehearsal technique, listening skills, communication and leadership. The young conductors will also be getting feedback from members of the orchestra.
