About this concert
Four string players from the Concertgebouw Orchestra work together with three exceptional musicians who enjoy mixing music styles: clarinetist and artist in residence Martin Fröst (from Sweden), jazz singer Graziella Hunsel Rivero (an Amsterdam native with Surinamese roots) and the pianist Daahoud Salim (from Spain). They play jazz songs by Benny Goodman and music by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. The latter wrote a stunningly romantic clarinet quintet and adapted an Afro-American spiritual. A musical cross-pollination with a genuine American accent!
The Bijlmer Klassiek series is organized in collaboration with the Bijlmer Park Theater.
