Yefim Bronfman, the Concertgebouworkest’s artist in residence this season, is performing Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto.
Pianist Yefim Bronfman has been a welcome guest with the Concertgebouworkest for many years, and will be serving as its artist in residence during the 2021–22 season. He’s getting off to a good start with Beethoven’s ground-breaking Piano Concerto No. 3. The prominent role Beethoven assigns to the orchestra gives the Third Piano Concerto great symphonic appeal. It will take a first-rate soloist to compete with the orchestra. But if anyone can do it, it’s Yefim Bronfman.
