Violist Jeroen Woudstra started taking music lessons at the age of five and later studied with Philip Hirshhorn and Keiko Wataya at the Utrecht Conservatory. He was awarded a scholarship to continue his studies with Chumachenko Szigmundy and Nobuko Imai at the Mozart Academy in Cracow.
Woudstra joined the viola section of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in January 2000.
As a chamber musician, Woudstra collaborates with such musicians as Emanuel Ax, Kyoko Hashimoto, Charles André Linale, Rainer Moog and Nathaniel Rosen at international festivals in Europe, the United States and Asia.
Jeroen Woudstra plays a viola built by Jean Baptiste Lefèbvre from the instrument collection of the RCO Foundation.
