On Friday, January 24, we presented our Annual Gala. Take a look at the first photos and relive the sparkling concert conducted by our future chief conductor Klaus Mäkelä, featuring soloist Janine Jansen, followed by the festive afterparty in various foyers of the Concertgebouw.
The concert, conducted by our future chief conductor Klaus Mäkelä, opened with a royal funeral march by Purcell. Immediately afterward, Janine Jansen performed as the soloist in Britten's Violin Concerto, which she also played during her debut with the orchestra twenty years ago. The concert concluded with Schumann's Second Symphony, in which he openly draws inspiration from the music of Bach, Haydn, and Beethoven.
After the concert, all guests had plenty of opportunities to enjoy more music in the various foyers, meet musicians, and dance until after midnight.
We hope to welcome you at our Annual Gala next season! Please save the date: Friday, 23 January 2026.
With this festive evening we thank our benefactors for their heartwarming involvement and invaluable support.
