Vernon Chatlein

Vernon Chatlein is originally from Curaçao, lived in Cuba for two years, and moved to Amsterdam in 2009 to study at the Conservatorium with Randal Corsen — whose work was performed by the Concertgebouworkest in March. In recent years, he has conducted research in the historic sound archive Zikinzá, exploring Afro-Curaçaoan musical heritage. This research led to the creation of the musical performance Voices from Letters; Imershón, a musical tribute to his ancestors.
