In January, the Concertgebouw Orchestra is exploring the music of the United States in all its diversity with symphonic concert programmes in conjunction with chamber music, lectures, radio broadcasts and educational activities. How do we view the ‘land of the free’ in the post-Trump era?

Programme

Made in America consists of symphonic concert programmes in conjunction with introductions, chamber music, lectures, discussions, radio broadcasts and educational activities.

The Concertgebouw Orchestra is performing works by composers from very different backgrounds, including Julia Perry, Julia Wolfe, Jennifer Higdon, Leonard Bernstein, George Walker and John Adams. The programme includes film music, radical modernism and neoromanticism.
