Christof Fischesser was born into a musical family and studied at the conservatory in Frankfurt am Main. The German bass launched his operatic career at the Badisches Staatstheater in Karlsruhe and, until 2015, was a member of the Zurich Opera for several years, with which he still has a close relationship.

Singing such roles as Figaro in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and Heinrich der Vogler in Wagner’s Lohengrin, he has performed at the leading opera houses of London, Vienna, Paris, Lyon, Berlin, Munich, Dresden, Houston and Chicago. Fischesser is also a welcome guest on international concert stages and at renowned festivals including the Salzburg Festival and the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence.

He makes his first appearance with the Concertgebouworkest in 2016.
