Fons Verspaandonk studied with Herman Jeurissen at the Brabant Conservatory, where he graduated with honours. He took masterclasses with Radovan Vlatkovic, Frøydis Ree Wekre en Michael Höltzel.
Fons Verspaandonk was appointed third horn with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in January 2004. Prior tot his, he was a member of the Brabant Orchestra (1995-1998) and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra (1998-2003).
He is a member of the Farkas Quintet, with which he won the Jury Prize and the Audience Prize at the 2004 Almere National Chamber Music Competition. Verspaandonk has also performed chamber music with ensembles such as Combattimento Consort Amsterdam and the Ebony Band, and is a member of Brass of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
From 2007 to 2011, Verspaandonk taught horn at the Fontys Conservatoire in Tilburg.
Fons Verspaandonk plays an Alexander 103 double horn, on loan from the RCO Foundation.
