Justin Cherry
Born in Aalborg, Denmark, Justin Cherry began his musical studies at an early age playing the piano. Later, he took up the bassoon, taking lessons with Sennen Costa. While attending high school, Justin completed the Danish pre-conservatory program Musikalsk Grundkursus.
Playing the bassoon has given Justin the opportunity to travel around the world. As a member of Orkester Norden, Justin visited the Baltic countries and Finland. He held a scholarship in 2017 and 2018 and attended the Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan, USA, where he played in the World Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Justin performed with the Aalborg Symfoniorkester as a soloist after winning the orchestra’s Young Artists competition in 2019.
Justin Cherry is currently studying with Gustavo Núñez at the Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf.
