Marie Duquesnoy

Marie Duquesnoy began her violin lessons with Cyril Guignier and continued her early music education at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris, studying under Larissa Koloss and Florin Szigeti. 

She was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris in the classes of Philippe Graffin and José Alvarez. In 2019 she joined the Orchestre Français des Jeunes, where she was concertmaster from 2020 to 2021 under the direction of Fabien Gabel and Michael Schønwandt. In 2023 Marie obtained her master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik in Frankfurt, studying with Sophia Jaffé.  

Marie won first prize at the International Music Academy of Flaine competition in 2017 and third prize at the Vatelot Rampal violin competition in 2018. She has taken part in masterclasses by Pierre Fouchenneret, Jan Orawiec and Robin Chen. In 2022, she was accepted at the Studio Academy of the Orchestre de Paris. 

Marie has been performing with the Consuelo Orchestra under the direction of Victor Julien Laferrière, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the Orchestre de Paris under Klaus Mäkelä. 

Marie Duquesnoy has a passion for chamber music and plays in various different formations. She has worked with Emmanuelle Bertrand, François Salque, Claire Désert, Yovan Marcovitch and Tim Vogler.
