Hannah Solveij Gramss
Hannah Solveij Gramss studied violin with Herwig Zack at the Musikhochschule Würzburg and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon with Marianne Piketty. She attended masterclasses with Ingold Turban and Markus Fleck. As a soloist, she played violin concertos by Mozart at the Würzburg Mozart Festival. Gramss gained experience as a chamber musician as Duo Catharina & Hannah with harpist Catharina Mothes, winning a concert grant from Live Music Now.
As a member of various German youth orchestras, such as the Bundesjugendorchester and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, she worked with such conductors as Simon Rattle and Mariss Jansons. She won multiple prizes at the German Jugend musiziert youth competition and the special Peyras Prize at the Marie Cantagrill International Violin Competition in 2019. Recently she won the Kulturförderpreis der Stadt Würzburg.
Hannah Solveij Gramss is set on defying genre conventions. With Gordon Hamilton she composed the crossover violin concerto Loop Guts for violin solo, live electronics and symphony orchestra, which was premiered as a live stream with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra. This project was nominated for the Opus Klassik in the category videoclip and composer of the year.
