Valentina Peleggi (1983) holds a Master's in Conducting with honours from the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome. She was the first Italian woman to enter the postgraduate orchestra conducting programme at the Royal Academy of Music of London.
She was invited to study with David Zinman in London and in 2016 at the Tonhalle, Zurich. Passionately dedicated to Italian opera, Valentina Peleggi has worked at the opera houses of Chicago, Paris, Parma and Turin.
In 2014 she won the Conducting Prize at the Festival International de Inverno Campos do Jordão (Brazil) and was invited as assistant conductor at the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo under Marin Alsop, where she was recently appointed as resident-conductor. She built a very strong relationship with the orchestra, the critics and the audience, winning the 2016 APCA Conductor of the Year Award.
Recently Valentina Peleggi made an impressive debut with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
