Modified concerts and streams up to 18 December
As a result of the new coronavirus measures, the Concertgebouw Orchestra has had to cancel all concerts up to and including 18 December. Despite that, we have been hard at work behind the scenes organising (shorter) concerts and free streams. On 12 December, Santtu-Matias Rouvali will be leading the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Sibelius’s Sixth and Seventh Symphonies. On 15 and 17 December, Fabio Luisi will be at the orchestra’s helm to conduct Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 and Schumann’s Symphony No. 4.
We are very pleased to announce that modified concerts will be taking place on:
- Sunday, 12 December at 2.15 p.m.
- Wednesday, 15 December at 12.00 p.m.
- Friday, 17 December at 11.00 a.m
On 12 December, the young, flamboyant Finnish conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali will be leading the Concertgebouw Orchestra in his compatriot Sibelius’s Sixth and Seventh Symphonies.
On Wednesday, 15 December and on Friday, 17 December, the leading conductor Fabio Luisi will be at the orchestra’s helm to conduct Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1, with Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider as soloist, and Schumann’s Symphony No. 4.
Order your tickets online
Tickets to the modified concerts on 12, 15 and 17 December go on sale on Tuesday, 7 December at 10.00 a.m. Those having purchased tickets to the concerts originally scheduled to take place on these dates will be given priority and may order their tickets starting from 6 December. You may experience delays or difficulties reaching our Customer Service Department by telephone because of higher volumes of work. That’s why the fastest way to order your ticket(s) is online. Don’t forget to redeem any vouchers you may have when making your payment.
Live streams and radio broadcast
In accordance with the new coronavirus measures, unfortunately only a very limited number of audience members may attend a given concert. For that reason, we have decided to live-stream free of charge the concert with Santtu-Matias Rouvali at concertgebouworkest.nl and on Facebook and YouTube on 12 December at 2.15 p.m.
We will also be streaming free of charge the concert conducted by Fabio Luisi on the same channels on 17 December at 8.15 p.m. Both concerts will additionally be broadcast on the NPO Radio 4 Zondagmiddagconcert programme on 26 December.
We very much look forward to performing for you again despite these modifications.
