Annual Gala 2022

On Friday 30 september, we presented our Annual Gala. Have a look at the aftermovie and the photo reportage. A lively impression of Handel’s Acis and Galatea and the afterparty with a variety of musical moods in the foyers.

Every season we host a gala evening for our loyal audience members, donors and sponsors. This year for the first time we celebrated this event under its new name, the Annual Gala.

After a reception with champagne and macarons, the Main Hall was filled with a performance of Georg Friedrich Handel’s pastoral opera Acis and Galatea. The orchestra (in small, 18th-century form), the five soloists and the Netherlands Chamber Choir were conducted by Leonardo García Alarcón. The marvellously effective décor of Pierre Audi was lit beautifully by Urs Schönebaum.

The afterparty in the foyers had a surprise in store for the second half of the evening. Jazzy performances featuring orchestra members and other musicians with kaleidoscopic image projections in the Recital Hall and the Mirror Hall. The audience meeting Leonardo García Alarcón, Pierre Audi and violinist Susanne Niesporek in the Conductors’ Foyer. And everyone who wanted to could join the dancing in the Choir Hall until past midnight.

With this festive evening we thank our benefactors for their heartwarming involvement and invaluable support.
