A look back on the Annual Gala 2024

On Friday 12 January, we presented our Annual Gala. Have a look at at the photo reportage for the highlights of this festive evening.

Klaus Mäkelä

Future chief conductor Klaus Mäkelä led the orchestra in three colourful works. The concert opened with M.C. Escher’s Imagination by the Dutch composer Hawar Tawfiq. Next, Manuel de Falla’s symphonic impressions of Spanish gardens at night was followed by Mussorgsky’s celebrated Pictures at an Exhibition.

Afterparty

The afterparty in the foyers had a surprise in store for the second half of the evening. The audience meeting principal trombonist Jörgen van Rijen, conductor Klaus Mäkelä, pianist Javier Perianes and composer Hawar Tawfiq. Jazzy performances featuring orchestra members and other musicians in the Recital Hall and the Mirror Hall. And everyone who wanted to, could join the dancing in the Choir Hall until past midnight.
